HELLO to our new hotel home – the DoubleTree by Hilton in Pikesville, MD! The ink is still drying on the deal and we are putting together the information on our hotel room block for you to make your reservations. The good news? The original dates of February 9-11, 2024 and room rate of $129/night will remain in place! Look for further news here on the website and on our social media with the link to our hotel reservation page when it is established.
And a sad FAREWELL to our beloved Delta Hotel / Hunt Valley Inn. We had a wonderful farewell event on Saturday, October 28, 2023 with lots of friends, fun, laughter, and food, along with some tears. Our founder Steven H. Wilson has shared some thoughts on the weekend on his Facebook page – please enjoy his remembrance of the very long association his family has had with the Delta / HVI both personally and professionally. I just saw the news regarding new hotel on Facebook. Fortunately, I have a pretty good idea where it is, and I will know exactly where it is before the convention weekend. But I must say that the hotel’s web address and phone number would be very helpful.
Additional information will be coming as the data is provided by the hotel with the personalized event landing page for hotel reservations.
It’s the Doubletree in Pikesville. If you’re a worrywart like me, you can just book a room at the standard rate. I did that myself today, and the room rate was $140/night — only $10/night more than the group rate. In my case, a small price to pay for some additional peace of mind. (At least, I hope so. Of course, with hotels, there are no guarantees.)
The hotel rate at the DoubleTree will be $129/night, the same as the Delta has promised us. Booking outside of our room block does not help us meet our room sales commitment under our contract. We hope you will cancel/rebook once the room block is open.
Ah, okay, this I did not know. Thank you for the information… I’ll check on that when the block opens, as you say. Definitely want to be sure we settle into our new home as smoothly as possible.
Please excuse my ignorance, but this is new to me. But if I am understanding this correctly, the convention room rate is not available yet? If that is the case, when will it be available, and how will I be notified?
We know the room rate, as it is part of our contract that is in the execution process. It will be publicly announced here and on social media along with the dedicated Hilton page for our room reservations soon.
