Getting Ready for #FarpointConvention

We’ll be gathering together next week at the Delta Hotel by Marriott Hunt Valley in ONE WEEK for our 2023 Farpoint Fandom Family House Party! Below are answers to the 2 most asked questions that occur this time of year:

Q: Is the weekend schedule available?

A: YES! Your can find it here on our website in downloadable PDF form or through our internet-based app. Planned signing times and costs for our celebrity guests can be found here on our website.

Q: Will tickets be available at the door?

A: YES! All ticket types will be available at the door and will include the perks of one complimentary signature from the celebrity guest of your choice on Saturday and/or Sunday (2 total for weekend members, 1 total on single day of attendance) AND access to over 200 hours of activities throughout the weekend. Ticket pricing is shown below.

The final schedule will be provided with your convention program book and will be available at the convention in our interactive online app to help you plan the events you want to participate in at our convention. Masquerade Costume Contest Information

Information for #Costumers and #Cosplayers interested in participating in the #FarpointConvention #Masquerade #CostumeContest:

  1. The event is scheduled for Saturday evening 2/11/23 at 8:00 pm in the Valley Ballroom. Registration for the contest begins Saturday morning and runs from 10 am to 4 pm. The registration desk for the contest is next to convention registration in the downstairs level of the hotel convention center.
  2. Our celebrity guests Carlos Alazraqui and Rylee Alazraqui will be participating as judges.
  3. There is no entry fee to participate in the contest.
  4. Costumers and Cosplayers of all ages and experience levels may participate. You may present a short (3 min or less) skit or simply walk on stage and display your costume to its best advantage. If you want to develop a skit or presentation, we have a Presentation Workshop on Saturday morning to help.
  5. If your presentation uses audio cues, you must bring the clip on physical media to turn in when you register for the contest. The bandwidth on the hotel and convention center’s WiFI systems is in high demand during the convention and asking the Technical Team to download the clip from an online source cannot be guaranteed successful due to the high usage. Bringing the clip yourself already on a thumb drive is best.

2023 Guest Autograph Information

Here is the cost information for our 2023 guests. Signing times will be coming as soon as the schedule is confirmed, expected around 1/29/23. It is currently planned that guests will be signing on Saturday 2/11/23 and Sunday 2/12/23. Friday is a travel day for the guests. This may change once final travel itineraries are set; any changes to the signing times will be announced here and on our social media pages.

The guests’ signing tables will be in the lower level of the hotel convention center outside of the main ballroom. Any purchases will be in CASH only. You will be able to redeem your daily (Saturday or Sunday) complimentary signature and purchase additional signatures or selfie at the same time.

2023 Charity Auction

Is de-cluttering one of your 2023 resolutions? If yes, we would be happy to accept donations of any fannish collectibles or items for our Charity Auction! While we accept donations at the door, we would appreciate an advance email so that we can prepare our auction records for your item. Please send information and a photo (if possible) on your item to us at Charities@FarpointCon.com. Auction proceeds benefit Julien Fleming Memorial Fund (jfmf.org) and Art Way Alliance (artwayalliance.org).

Hotel Reservation Reminder

Our hotel venue has made more rooms available in our room block. Reservation cut off date is January 10, 2023 to get the Farpoint Convention rate of $129/night (plus applicable taxes). To receive this rate, use this link to make your reservation or call the hotel at 410-785-7000. If you reserve by phone, be sure to ask for the Farpoint rate. Our rate should be the lowest available for our weekend. If you find rooms offered for a lower rate, please let us know at Contact@FarpointCon.com so we can make sure you get the lower rate, and we still get credit for your room reservation.

Panel Selection Form is Available!

#FarpointConvention always welcomes our attendees to participate as panelists during the convention. The Panel Selection list for 2023 is available for attendees to request to participate on program panels! EXCLUSIVE Livestream Conversation with Director/Producer EDUARDO SANCHEZ!

#FarpointCon2023 will feature a livestream conversation with the director and producer EDUARDO SANCHEZ! He is the mastermind behind The Blair Witch Project films and has also directed episodes of fan favorite shows such as Supernatural, Yellowjackets, Lucifer and many others. The date and time of the livestream will be announced as the schedule is developed.
