Support Farpoint Foundation Today!

FARPOINT FOUNDATION is the 501(c) 3 organization behind FARPOINT CONVENTION. Established in 2019, the Foundation’s mission is to promote the cultural and educational advancement of literary, graphical, musical and theatrical art forms inspired by science fiction, fantasy, comics, anime, horror and all realms of the imagination in the community at large. We provide informational and technical assistance to creators and fans of these art forms through discussion via the internet and social media, projects and activities in the community, and the annual Farpoint Convention where creators and fans can learn with and from each other.

Our short term goal is to establish a fund to invite teen and young adult students to attend our annual convention at no cost to them, allowing them to learn from and network with other creators. This fund is projected to require a $1000.00 balance to support annual attendance by up to 10 local students. Our follow-on goal is to establish a second fund providing a scholarship to a student to help with the cost of their higher education in the arts. This fund will require a $15,000 balance to support an annual $1500.00 scholarship with replenishment from accumulating interest and continued donations.

Our Official Charities:

Farpoint has a long-standing tradition of raising funds through a series of auctions to benefit local charities. Your generosity helps us support our own 501(c)3 parent Farpoint Foundation as well as our charities, the Julien Fleming Memorial Fund (jfmf.org), devoted to helping families with critically ill children with medical expenses and Art Way Alliance  (artwayalliance.org), dedicated to providing students with the opportunities and experiences necessary to acquaint them with the potential found in media arts and related careers to those who would otherwise not have direct access to instructors, materials, and other like-minded individuals.

Charity Auction

In recent years, we have raised over $90,000 for JFMF, AWA and charities such as the North Shore Animal League, the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS) and The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center of Baltimore and Central Maryland (GLCCB). Farpoint’s tradition of caring continues at our 2026 convention!

Like competition? Don’t miss our two Live Auctions, the first Friday night during the Opening Ceremonies, and the other Saturday night at Masquerade half-time. It’s pulse-pounding excitement as bidders battle it out for unique collectables.

If you prefer a more peaceful atmosphere, visit the Silent Auction taking place in the Art Show room on Friday and Saturday. There, you can place bids on a variety of fannish items and the highest written bids as of Saturday night can claim their items during the Art Auction checkout on Sunday morning. If there’s a “Buy Now” price listed on an item and no other bids, you can purchase the item immediately at the Buy Now price and the money will go straight into our charity donation coffer.

The Silent Auction also features a great Trunk Sale of loose toys and games, with prices starting at 25 cents! Kids of all ages are encouraged to search for the perfect dinosaur, race car, or mini-figure.
